Piano Teacher Testimonials

I have known Bev Katz for seven years as my daughter’s teacher of piano and musicianship. We have come to know Bev well, attending many of the wonderful concerts she offers for her students. These display the level of excellence she demands, as well as her own musical ability. She is dedicated, professional and thorough. Her musical knowledge – both theory and practical - is broad and she understands how to communicate that knowledge to the youngest child and to adult students. It is always a pleasure to see Bev, who is also a most kind and elegant person.

Beverly Katz’s three evening courses on music appreciation, held at Theme and Variations piano showroom during July, covered the music of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. We learnt about the lives of these composers and how their music dove-tailed with events in history and in their life. I particularly liked the way Beverly brought the composer 'to life' for me, it's so easy to forget that composers were just like anybody else, real, living people who had their own problems in life, their own loves, frustrations and moments of joy. Beverly’s easy-going approach and clarity of presentation made for a most interesting and informative approach to music, suitable for all levels of musical knowledge.
